Local Pennsylvania Progressive Insurance Agents

Owner, MVP Insurance

Thinking about it, I'd rather find you a Progressive policy through a Pennsylvania agent who can also show you what other carriers would charge for the same coverage. Local Pennsylvania Progressive insurance agents, like the team at MVP Insurance, can quote Progressive auto, renters, and business policies. They can bundle those with home coverage and lay the rates beside quotes from other carriers, typically at no added cost to you.

Most people find an agent after a renewal notice jumps or a website quote leaves them with more questions than answers. A local agent fills that gap. You get a person who knows how Pennsylvania tort options, Butler County weather claims, and small-business payroll rules actually affect your bill.

Looking for a Progressive Agent in Pennsylvania?

MVP Insurance is an independent agency founded in 2008 by Josh Medure and David Varrati. It works with Progressive as an independent agent, not as Progressive itself. MVP places Progressive policies alongside other carriers like Erie, Westfield, and Liberty Mutual, so Progressive is one option on the table rather than the only one.

That distinction matters more than people expect. A captive agent can sell only one company's products. An independent agency works for you, which means if Progressive is the right fit, you get Progressive. If another carrier prices your situation better, you'll hear about that too.

Why Work with MVP Instead of Going Direct?

The short answer: you get the same Progressive policy plus a comparison you can't get online. Buying Progressive through an independent agent typically costs the same as buying direct, because the agent's commission is generally built into the standard rate.

Progressive's website shows you Progressive's price and nothing else. An MVP agent can run your profile through Progressive and also through carriers like Western Reserve or Frederick Mutual, then put the numbers side by side. A 45-year-old Cranberry Township homeowner with a clean record may price very differently across those companies than a 19-year-old driver in Beaver Falls. Nobody can predict which carrier wins without running both.

Local knowledge also catches mistakes that online forms miss. A common one is choosing state-minimum liability to save a few dollars, then owning a house that a lawsuit could reach.

Bundling Progressive Auto with Home and Renters

Bundling is where an agent can save real money. Combining auto and home coverage in Pennsylvania can lead to multi-policy savings, and some bundles may include a single deductible when one event damages both your car and your house.

Progressive's own home insurance in Pennsylvania generally works as a marketplace. It places policies through the Progressive Advantage Agency with outside partner companies. An independent agent goes further. They may pair Progressive auto with home or tenants coverage from carriers like Municipal Mutual or Farmers of McCandless. Sometimes the strongest overall value comes from a split arrangement rather than putting everything with one brand.

Popular Progressive Policies for PA Drivers and Businesses

MVP places three main lines with Progressive: Auto, Tenants (renters), and Business coverage.

  • Auto: Personal cars, trucks, and SUVs, with options that may include roadside assistance and rental reimbursement.
  • Tenants: Renters coverage for your belongings and personal liability, which typically pairs well with a Progressive auto policy.
  • Business: Commercial auto and related coverage for contractors, delivery operators, and small businesses. Keep in mind that Pennsylvania requires virtually every employer with even one employee, including part-time and seasonal staff, to carry workers' compensation. That is a separate policy from commercial auto.

Some needs fall outside Progressive's sweet spot. For a restored classic car, MVP may turn to Hagerty. For a driver who needs a non-standard policy after a lapse or a few tickets, Dairyland is often a practical fit.

Coverage Limits and Pennsylvania State Requirements

Pennsylvania is a "choice" state. You pick Full Tort or Limited Tort, and Limited Tort can reduce premiums by 15% to 40% on certain coverages. The catch is that it restricts your right to sue for non-serious injuries. We see clients choose it for the savings without realizing what they gave up until after a rear-end collision.

Coverage PA Minimum Common Agent Suggestion
Bodily injury liability $15,000 / $30,000 Often $100,000 / $300,000 or higher
Property damage liability $5,000 Often $50,000 or more
Medical benefits (first-party) $5,000 May go higher if health coverage is thin
Tort option Your choice Full Tort if you want lawsuit rights

How to Get a Progressive Quote through MVP Insurance

Call the office closest to you and an agent will start the comparison. Reach the Zelienople, PA office at (724) 453-1122 or the New Springfield, OH office at (330) 707-9055.

Have these ready to speed things up:

  1. Driver's license numbers for everyone in the household
  2. Vehicle VINs, or year, make, and model
  3. Your current declarations page, so the agent can match limits exactly
  4. For business quotes: vehicle use, employee count, and annual revenue

The agent then quotes Progressive and other carriers on identical coverage. That way the comparison is fair and you aren't weighing a stripped-down policy against a full one.

Frequently Asked Questions About Local Progressive Agents

Is Progressive more expensive through an agent? Usually not. The price is typically the same whether you buy from an agent or direct.

Is MVP Insurance part of Progressive? No. MVP is an independent agency that works with Progressive along with many other carriers.

Can I bundle Progressive auto with a different home insurer? Yes. An agent may pair Progressive auto with home coverage from another carrier if that gives you better overall value.

Does Progressive offer anything for first-time homebuyers? As of this writing, Progressive expanded its UpPayment program in May 2026 to offer up to $13,500 in down payment help for eligible first-time buyers.

Should I pick Limited Tort? It lowers your premium, but it limits lawsuits for non-serious injuries. Talk it through with an agent before you decide.

Getting Progressive Coverage the Smarter Way

Progressive is a solid option for many Pennsylvania drivers, renters, and business owners. The smart move is to see it next to the alternatives before you commit. A local independent agent gives you that view at typically no added cost. They can also fold in home coverage and help you pick tort and liability limits that actually protect what you own.

MVP Insurance holds Ohio license #37714, Pennsylvania license #519263, and NPN 10588293. Whether you're near Zelienople or New Springfield, the easiest first step is to start your quote. Let an agent do the shopping, and you'll see exactly where Progressive stands.
